7 Ways to feel better now

If you are not feeling your best or you have woken up with a sore throat, sneezing and the sniffles, here are some simple tips that can help you feel better and help you get well faster.

Take it easy – When you are ill, your body is working hard to fight off the infection, which means that most of your energy will be used to help your body heal. If you are not well, look at taking time off work, school and make rest a priority.

Go to bed – Instead of curling up on the couch, look at sleeping early and take as many naps as you can during the day. The more sleep you get, the easier it is for your body to fight off your infection.

Drink up – More fluids will thin your mucus and reduce congestion. Staying hydrated will also help to minimize headaches and fatigue. Place a glass bottle filled with water and sip it during the day. Limit sodas, coffee, and alcohol, to reduce dehydration.

Gargle with saltwater- If your throat is throbbing, look at gargling with warm salt water. Gurgling with salt water will also help to ease swelling and loosens mucus.

Sip a hot beverage – Sore throats will benefit from drinking hot or warm liquids as the heat will reduce soreness and fatigue.

Have a spoonful of honey – Honey can soothe a sore throat or an itchy cough. Look at one teaspoon of honey before bed and as soon as you wake up.

Take a hot shower – A warm bath can help to relax achy muscles while inducing sleep.
