Can doing crossfit actually increase your cardiovascular endurance?

If you have not had the pleasure of trying crossfit just yet, you will find that doing their exercise programs will definitely knock the wind out of you. And we’re not even exaggerating here. The amount of effort and energy that these guys put into their workout is amazing and ridiculous at the same time. Picture this, you are tasked to do one exercise set that consists of three separate exercises targeting various muscle groups in your body. On top of that, you are either tasked to do as many sets as you can under a limited amount or time; or you can also do a fixed number of sets that you need to do as fast as possible within a given period of time. Most of these workouts take about twenty to thirty minutes to do. And that’s crazy fast, and that’s crazy intense as well. The sheer number of calories that you burn in that short a period would speed up your metabolism. Other than that, it would also allow your body to burn more calories at a heightened rate for about three hours after your exercise as well. But does it give you a good cardio exercise? The answer to that, is yes. It takes a lot of endurance to be pulling off these exercises at such a short time that you would find yourself struggling to catch your breath once your through with your first or second set. Oh, and also remember that you’re allowed to take breaks in between.
