Tips for doing a juice cleanse

A juice cleanse could be a good solution if you are looking for a way to cleanse your body from toxins accumulated over the holidays or from recent binge eating. It is also a great way to incorporate some raw fruits and vegetables to your diet. The duration of the cleanse or juice fast, would depend on you, but usually that might last between three days to a whole week. The idea behind the juice fast is to “feed” only on different juices for a set amount of days. Some of the below tips might come handy if you intend to start a juice cleanse.

Plan in advance

Do not just think about starting a juice cleanse on a whim. Give yourself some days to prepare your mind and body. Start a simple fast some days before the actual cleanse by eliminating certain food elements such as alcohol, soda drinks and fatty food from your diet. Make the most of those pre-cleanse days to plan the juices that you would be having and to shop for fruits and vegetables that you would be needing.

During the cleanse

Use a juicer instead of a blender to make your juicer as the blender would not yield a fluid drink. Prepare your juices ahead and chill them so that they are available when you start feeling hungry. You might notice that you would be sweating and urinating more than usual and therefore would be needing copious amounts of water handy.

After the cleanse

Incorporate some good habits in your daily meal by eating more fruits and vegetables.
