Healthy habits to keep your New Year’s resolutions

Sticking to New Year’s resolutions can be a struggle for most. Often people will fall through on their resolutions as early as the end of January. To help you maintain your resolutions, here are a few tips that can change routines and help people reach their goals.

Take small steps – New Year’s resolutions can seem like you’re trying to achieve too much. To make your goals manageable, break your goals into small tasks.

Build small health and fitness changes into your life – If your overall goal is to be healthy and fit, start by adding a 20-minute walk every day into your daily schedule.

Work out at home – Most people will find it hard to get to the gym in the mornings or to squeeze in a gym session after a long day of work. Heading to the gym can also take up some travel time. A 30-minute home workout is a great addition to your day, as it will take a short time to complete and leave you time to complete other tasks.

Consistent snacking on unhealthy foods – To avoid reaching for unhealthy foods, try to drink a glass of water and wait 15 minutes before deciding if you still want the unhealthy snack.

Focus on positive affirmations – Positivity can really help in areas that need improvement, like body image and self-esteem. To focus on the positives, place sticky notes with special quotes that will uplift you throughout the day.
